This coffee was from the same lot that Da Matteo in Sweden used to win the Nordic’s Best roaster competition 2025. We even did a bag exchange together after it. When comparing, both profiles were more similar than we expected. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised as they are from the same lot, but of course each roaster has different equipment, styles and approaches to roasting. We would say that theirs was slightly more chocolate/vanilla style focused than ours. By comparison, our profile gave slightly more fruit sweetness and acidity. I really liked the balance they had, and I preferred the sweetness ours had and both were really enjoyable. For us, these comparisons help us to learn from and improve or confirm decisions we make when approaching coffees and therefore we find these experiences so valuable to learn from. A big thank you to the crew in Da Matteo and of course a huge congrats on your competition win.
