Welcome to our first ever Indonesian coffee. We almost bought from here a few times in the past, but this seasons quality is much better in our view and worth buying this time round. Suits those looking for a solid crowd pleasing espresso coffee with a bit of complexity to keep it interesting. If you have a Sage espresso machine at home this is the one for you.

The variety is picked separately, pulped, fermented with lacto bacteria and dried on raised beds before finished off at the patio.

Frinsa Estate, located in West Java, locally called Sunda. It’s a farm at about 110 hectares located 1300 - 1600 masl. Sigararutang is a cultivar grown in their different blocks. They have a wetmill located at 1400 masl altitude, a green house and a well ventilated storage space and a dry mill. This means they are in fully control of their product from harvest to grading, sorting and shipment.

We paid $10.80USD per kg (raw/unroasted) on this one (before weight loss & every other expense). That is significantly higher than the commodity price of coffee at the moment (currently $2.89 USD per kg on 3/9/20). That said pricing is only part of this story. We believe that effective sustainability will come from trust building relationships with farmers and this is why we love working with Nordic Approach to source most of our coffees like this one.
