Fidel El Centro was bought in 2004 and immediately they started planting a few different coffee varieties with long term goals for quality. The the farm is a family project and in 2013 they won the Cup of Excellence and have also done really well in this competition with other farms they run. We don't use cup scores as much anymore as it depends on a lot of subjective factors including how it was roasted. However, the score given on this coffee was an 87 before it reached us which is a very good score. 80+ scores are Speciality grade and anything over 90 is extremely rare.
